Details, Features and Related Services of the Scheme

The Lok Sin Tong Social Housing Scheme “LST Housing” is a project which features green buildings and adopts greening as the theme, with a green space occupying 20% of the total building area. The place underneath the large tree preserved in the project is designated as a planter area and a shared open space for the community.

In this project, the Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) method was adopted, not only for reducing on-site construction processes and enhancing site safety, but also for facilitating relocation of the entire MiC module by disassembly, removal and reassembly for reuse in another location after exit of the project in future, whereby meeting the sustainability requirement of transitional housing project.

“LST Housing” serves as a comfortable home to the grassroots. Community-based support services, including affordable rent, healthcare subsidies, after-school support for students, family counselling and service referrals are also provided in this project.

Furthermore, the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, in an effort to foster social integration coherence, regularly organises various types of family and student activities, such as tutorial classes, children’s interest classes groups, parent-child workshops and festive events, at the designated common service area and community sharing open space for the residents of “LST Housing” and the nearby neighbourhood.
