On February 21, 2026, the Deputy
Financial Secretary, Mr Michael
Wong, held a press conference
with the Secretary for Housing,
Ms Winnie Ho, and the Deputy
Secretary for Housing, Ms
Estrella Cheung, to announce the
plan for the long-term housing
arrangements for Wang Fuk Court
in Tai Po and the establishment
of a cross-departmental
"Engagement Team" coordinated by
the Housing Bureau.
|
|
|
The
"Engagement Team" has commenced
operation. Composed of more than
100 people, the Team draws its
members from the departments
under the Housing Bureau, the
Labour and Welfare Bureau, the
Security Bureau, the Home and
Youth Affairs Bureau and the
Development Bureau.
|
|
In late February 2026, the
Housing Bureau provided special
training for the
"Engagement Team"
to help them respond effectively
and explain the specific
long-term housing arrangements
to owners.
|
|
|
At the training, the Deputy
Financial Secretary, Mr Michael
Wong and the Secretary for
Housing, Ms Winnie Ho,
encouraged
the "Engagement Team", noting
that
the work of the
"Engagement Team"
is highly meaningful as it helps
residents in need to settle into
their homes.
|
|
On February 28, 2026, the
Secretary for Housing Ms Winnie
Ho, along with some members of
the "Engagement Team", visited
Lok
Sin Village, the transitional
housing project operated by the
Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society
Kowloon to better understand the
concerns of Wang Fuk Court
owners.
|
|
|
The
"Engagement Team" places strong
emphasis on providing clear
explanations, not on promotion.
It aims to equip residents with
sufficient information about the
long-term housing arrangements.
|
|
Starting from early March 2026,
the "Engagement Team" has
directly
contacted individual owners
through referrals made under the
“one social worker per
household” service.
|
|
|
To
provide services to owners in
need in a more convenient
manner, the "Engagement Team"
has
set up service counters at
various locations to provide
explanation services. These
include several transitional
housing projects where a
significant number of Wang Fuk
Court
residents are temporarily
accommodated, such as Kai Fook
Kui in Kai Tak, “THE STEP” in
Yuen Long and Yap Ting Terraced
Home in Tseung Kwan O.
|
|
Wang
Fuk Court
owners who wish to meet with the
"Engagement Team" can call the
team member responsible for
their case directly or make a
face-to-face appointment through
the dedicated enquiry hotline at
2129 8133 established by the
Government for the long-term
housing arrangements. The
assigned team member will
explain the details of the
long-term housing arrangements
to the owner in person.
|
|
|
The Deputy Chief Secretary for
Administration, Mr Cheuk
Wing-hing; and the Deputy
Financial Secretary, Mr Michael
Wong, together with the
Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie
Ho; and Deputy Secretary for
Housing, Ms Estrella Cheung, met
the media on April 28, 2026
regarding the follow-up
arrangements for Wang Chi House
at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po.
|
|
Starting
from late April 2026, the
"Engagement Team" has arranged
to distribute information pack
for the Special Sales Exercise.
|
|
|
The information pack for the
Special Sales Exercise contains
detailed information on 10
subsidised sale flat projects,
including the number of flats,
facilities and amenities, as
well as the surrounding
environments for owners’
consideration. The “Engagement
Team” will continue to provide
support and explain the details
to owners, and promptly address
owners’ questions.
|
|
Starting
from mid May 2026, owners of
Block A to H of Wang Fuk Court
began to receive
"Letters of Offer". The
“Engagement Team” has reached
out to the owners to explain the
details and answer their
enquiries.
